00 - INTRODUCTION

How do I describe myself in One Word ?

The best fit Id say is "Avial" Yummy Mixed vegetable Curry a Mallu Specialty and one of my Favourites too and at the 2013 Reunion in Gods Own Country "Kumarakam" I loved going for my Avial every lunch time. Here is a Photo of Avial for those not sure of what it is.

Why Avial ?

I was a Hindi speaking Kalapani born in Port Blair Andamans to Telugu Parents, called my Dad Acha as my Mallu neighbours kids called their father Acha, shifted to Madras at age 8 and learnt Tamil, and also studied French in PUC and German at IITM, Migrated to Australia and Married a Bong from Singapore. The Pity is, I speak Madras Telugu ( Not Classical Andhra Telugu ) but never learnt to read or write my own Mother Tongue... which is Telugu.

Bloody Mixed up Bloke as an Aussie would put it.

I can divide my Life into two Parts. My first innings was from 1946 to 2000 .

This was all about being born and brought up in the remote islands of Andaman and Nicobar, then relocating to Madras to go to St Bedes High school that gave me a solid Foundation, the good fortune to get into IIT Madras and even more good Fortune in Migrating to Sydney Australia in 1976 and having a spectacular Career as an Industrial Noise Control Engineer from 1980 to 2000.

Then Boom the Lights went out all of a sudden and life was immersed into deep darkness, not knowing what the future held.

On 13th April 2000, when metaphorically "I got hit on the Head" by a fast Ball when I was asleep and the Umpire gave me out. I knew I was not out and challenged the decision. The Third Umpire reviewed the camera images several times and gave me not out and here I am gas bagging.

I Think this message says it all

It is now 2020, 20 years later I am still at the crease. My body may be bruised and battered but my Spirit is still very very Strong and I am still at the Crease..

Basically as an individual, I always have done what I wanted to in life; as my Mother told me

"You can do anything you want if you really want it and will it and the only thing to stop You would be You".

The other side of me is that I will not do what I don't believe in and don't want to do. Pretty Pig headed I am, I'd say; but when I put my mind to it there is no stopping me.

Never have I hesitated not to burn Mid Night Candles to continue doing something I am passionate about be it acoustics and Noise Control, Cooking, Gardening, Blogging, cricketing or Singing Kareoke on Smule

Thats me basically.
